Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

At BC Centre for Ability, we have a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in our workplace and the work we do. As an organization that conducts community-based services for people with disabilities, we recognize the intersections of identity that often accompany the experience of disability and their interactions interpersonally and societally. Our goal is to create safe and inclusive spaces for our clients, staff, and the broader community, specifically those who experience systemic/structural discrimination and marginalization.

To aid in the execution of our DEI goals and commitment, we have implemented a DEI Committee. The DEI Committee is voluntary, always open to new membership, and is open to staff of all departments, identities and backgrounds. The DEI Committee serves as a resource and filter to apply DEI practices and views to events, policies, and procedures at the Centre.

We recognize that the landscape of DEI is ever-changing, and our commitment encompasses taking these changes in stride and applying them where necessary.
