The Opportunities Fund can provide disability supports for both individuals and employers. Here’s how!
Individuals:
- Paid Work Experience / Wage Subsidy
- Skills for Employment (for courses and programs not eligible for student loans or WorkBC funding)
- Self-Employment
- Professional Development / Skills for Advancement funding
- Support Services and Accommodation Support while in the above activities
Employers – Inclusive Hiring and Employee Advancement:
- Inclusive Hiring support – posting jobs; job-matching with possible candidates; developing inclusive hiring policies to advance your organization’s commitment to inclusion
- Partial coverage of a new employee’s wages for a negotiated period of time reducing recruitment costs
- Support Services and Accommodation Support
- Provide funding for Career Advancement / Professional Development of current employees
- Partial coverage of an employee’s wages while in the Professional Development or on the job training

Client Eligibility
- Persons who have a self-disclosed disability or chronic health condition
- Persons who are unemployed or underemployed
- Persons who are eligible to work in Canada
- Persons who are ineligible for Employment Insurance programs and services
- Persons who reside in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Sea to Sky Corridor or Sunshine Coast

- Self-referral is not accepted for the time being. Please contact your local WorkBC centre for employment services
