POSITION SUMMARY:
BC Centre for Ability is looking for a full time Senior Systems Administrator. Under direction from the Director of IT & Building Operations, the senior systems administrator will be an innovative dynamic individual task to help transform and transition BC Centre for Ability to leverage cloud services. You will have proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to help our digital transformation plans.

- You have a keen ability to quickly identify issues, and assist in resolving them in a timely manner
- You understand the importance of working with and handling of sensitive data
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a strategy for securing and managing critical (internet, email, cloud and phone) services
- Host, secure, manage, and support application on premises, and on Azure/Sharepiont/Salesforce
- Develop proactive/early warning systems to monitor and escalate issues with production infrastructure, capacity, web, application and database systems
- Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support complex network solutions (switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, reverse proxies, VPN, remote access, VOIP, wireless, printer )
- Maintain and support our corporate equipment (workstations, laptops, phones, ) and minimize downtime
- Identify areas of improvement in security/network administration, and implement best practices
- Mange support Level 3 request through ticketing system dealing with helpdesk request
- Train users in new and existing IT systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Minimum three years of experience, with undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited post-secondary
- Graduation IT programs with industry certifications: MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, VCP, ITIL or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and skills:
- Has deployed or supported O365/Azure/Sharepoint/salesforce (highly preferred)
- Excellent knowledge with cloud integration software and deployment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to lift over 40lbs equipment
- Good logical thinking and trouble shooting skills
- Excellent technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operation systems ( windows 10, 2012/2019, and exchange)
- Excellent technical knowledge of network hardware, protocols and standards including RAID, Active Directory,
- Excellent understating of VMware, SAN, firewalls, routers, and switches
- Ability to effectively manage time, responsibilities and priorities
- Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized and efficient
- Ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences as required
Working Conditions & Provisos:
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Valid BC driver’s license and use of own car for work, occasional travel to regional offices required
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required
- Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of a criminal records check
